Nourishing our Neighborhoods
A new 18,000 square-foot permanent home and a continuing mission to feed those in need were reasons to celebrate March 1 as the Alameda County Community Food Bank kicked off its Mission: Nutrition fundraising campaign. Guest enjoyed a reception and music by the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir as they checked out the food bank’s new location. The event helped the food bank get closer to its goal of raising $5 million to help pay for its Edgewater Drive location. To date, $2.5 million has been raised. The ACCFB has served Alameda County for 22 years, and the new home will allow programs to continue year-round without disruption. www.accfb.org. Photography by Lani Allen.
